Ingredients

For the cookie dough
  • 1 cup butter, softened to room temperature Softened butter is essential for fluffiness.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cotton candy flavored chips or colorful sprinkles Feel free to use more sprinkles for a pop of color.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, letting each fully combine before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until a soft dough forms.
  5. Gently fold in the cotton candy flavored chips or colorful sprinkles using a spatula.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded portions of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers still look slightly underbaked.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months. Reheat at room temperature before serving. Consider adding chocolate sauce for extra flair or trying variations such as chocolate or peanut butter chips.
