Ingredients

For the cake
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cups brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the frosting
  • 1 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Stir in the cooled coffee and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
  1. For the frosting, mix the powdered sugar, remaining brewed coffee, and butter until smooth.
  2. Spread the frosting over the cooled loaf cake and serve with tea or coffee.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a fluffier cake. Don’t skip the coffee; it enhances the chocolate flavor. Let it cool completely before frosting.
