Ingredients
  

Cruller Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter cut into chunks
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • oil for frying enough for deep frying
Strawberry Glaze Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup strawberry puree
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a pot, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the flour and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then mix in the eggs one at a time and the vanilla extract until smooth.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a fryer or deep pan.
  2. Use a piping bag to pipe the dough into ring shapes into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Glazing
  1. In a separate bowl, mix powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and milk to create the glaze.
  2. Dip cooled crullers into the glaze and set on a wire rack to let the glaze set.

Notes

These crullers are best enjoyed fresh! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
