Preparation
- Ensure the butter is softened to room temperature.
- Gather your ingredients and set them within easy reach.
Mixing
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter with the granulated sugar until pale and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
- Add the egg yolks and vanilla extract, then mix until combined.
- Gradually fold in the sifted flour and salt with a spatula.
- Slowly mix in the milk until the dough comes together but isn’t too wet.
Chilling and Baking
- Form a disc with the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface, cut into desired shapes, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
Cooling
- Let the cookies cool on a rack before enjoying.
Notes
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for about a week at room temperature, up to two weeks in the fridge, or frozen for up to three months. For best results, chill the dough longer.
