  • 4 large large eggs
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup fresh lump blue crab meat
Crust
  • 1 store-bought pie crust
Seasoning
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and half and half until combined.
  3. Stir in the gruyere cheese, parmesan cheese, and crab meat. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the store-bought pie crust into a pie dish.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly browned on top.
  2. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

Let it cool before slicing for clean pieces. You can use other seafood like shrimp or smoked salmon. For a crispy crust, blind bake the pie crust for 10 minutes before adding the filling. Pair with a fresh green salad and lemon vinaigrette for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
