Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak, sliced thinly across the grain For tenderness, slice against the grain.
  • 1 small onion, finely sliced
  • 1 each green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 each red bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese For topping.
For serving
  • as desired chopped parsley For garnish.
  • as desired cooked cauliflower rice, mashed potatoes, or rice Base for the bowls.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Thinly slice the ribeye or sirloin steak against the grain.
  2. Slice the onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper into uniform strips.
  3. Mince the garlic.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the sliced onions and peppers. Cook for 5-7 minutes until caramelized and softened.
  3. Add minced garlic for the last minute and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Season the sliced steak with salt and black pepper.
  5. Push the veggies to the side and add the steak to the skillet. Cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Drizzle Worcestershire sauce over the mixture.
  7. Lower the heat and sprinkle shredded cheese over the steak and veggies. Cover with a lid for about 2 minutes to melt the cheese.
  8. Serve the cheesesteak mixture over cauliflower rice, mashed potatoes, or rice, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Don’t skip toasting the garlic for extra flavor. For variations, consider adding spicy peppers or switching proteins.
