Lobster Mixture
  • 2 cups cooked lobster meat, chopped Fresh lobster meat preferred for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Can be adjusted based on preference.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds zest to the mixture.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped celery Provides crunch.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives or green onions For added flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
For Serving
  • 4 hot dog or lobster roll buns Choose your favorite type.
  • to taste Butter For toasting the buns.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the chopped lobster meat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, celery, and chives. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Toast Buns
  1. Butter the outside of the rolls generously and toast them in a skillet until golden brown.
Assembly
  1. Fill each toasted roll with the lobster mixture.
  2. Serve cold and enjoy your homemade Maine lobster rolls!

Notes

For best texture, serve immediately and avoid letting the rolls become soggy. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Freeze the lobster mixture if needed, but not the buns.
