Cooking
- Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add 1 lb of ground beef, using a spatula to break it up as it cooks.
- Stir in the finely diced onion and cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle with ½ teaspoon of garlic powder and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle relish, white vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Once the beef is ready, reduce the heat to low and mix in the prepared special sauce. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted smoothly into the mix.
- Toast your hamburger buns until golden-brown and slightly crisp.
- Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto the bottom halves of the toasted buns and cover with the top half.
Notes
Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days, or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat in microwave or skillet until heated through.
