Preparation
- Gather your ingredients. Ensure that the butter is softened.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts, and mix well.
- Gradually sift in the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
- If using, divide the dough and knead in the desired gel colors.
Baking
- Load your cookie press with the dough and press onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Top with sprinkles, if desired.
- Bake for about 6-8 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze for longer storage. Dough can be frozen for later use.
