Preparation
- Line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper and lightly coat it with cooking spray.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter for about 30-45 seconds until fully liquefied.
- Add corn syrup, granulated sugar, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and table salt to the melted butter and stir until smooth.
- Microwave the mixture on HIGH for 2 minutes, then stir thoroughly.
- Microwave again for another 2 minutes on HIGH until bubbling vigorously and golden in color.
- Carefully pour the hot caramel mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly with a silicone spatula.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top while the caramel is still warm.
- Let the caramels cool completely at room temperature for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
Notes
Remember to stir well for the perfect texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about two weeks.
