Preparation
- Gather your ingredients, ensuring that your cream cheese and butter are at room temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and lightly grease your cookie sheets or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the unsalted butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Baking
- Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls and flatten them slightly on the prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until slightly golden at the edges.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for about 10 seconds if desired.
