  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • 4 slices bacon Cooked until crispy
  • 1 large onion, sliced Caramelized
  • 1/2 cup Irish stout (like Guinness)
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pieces brioche burger buns
  • Butter (for toasting buns)

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  2. Sauté the sliced onions in the bacon drippings until caramelized and golden brown.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, and a splash of Irish stout for flavor. Shape into four patties.
  4. Increase the heat to medium-high in the skillet and add the burgers. Cook about 4 minutes per side for medium.
  5. Lightly butter the insides of the brioche buns and toast them until golden.
  6. For the whiskey sauce, mix sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and a hint of whiskey until smooth.
  7. Assemble your burger: Place a patty on the bun, top with onions, crispy bacon, cheddar, and drizzle with whiskey sauce, then add the top bun.
  8. Serve immediately.
