  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour Use a high-quality blend for best results.
  • 1/4 cup almond flour Can be substituted with more gluten-free all-purpose flour or another nut flour.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast Ensure it’s active for a proper rise.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (dairy or non-dairy) Use non-dairy milk for a vegan option.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 large eggs For vegan option, substitute with flax eggs or applesauce.
Toppings
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix the gluten-free flour, almond flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into buns.
  3. Place the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Let the buns cool before using them for burgers.

Notes

For longer storage, place in the freezer where they can last up to 3 months. Toast before serving to restore freshness.
