Ingredients

For the garlic butter
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter Make sure it's softened for easy spreading.
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder Adjust more or less according to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley Optional, for flavor and garnish.
For the sandwich assembly
  • 4 slices bread Use your preferred type, such as sourdough or ciabatta.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese blend (mozzarella and cheddar) Feel free to experiment with other cheeses.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Mix until smooth.
  2. Spread the prepared garlic butter generously onto one side of each slice of bread.
Cooking
  1. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place two slices of bread in the skillet, buttered side down, and sprinkle the cheese blend evenly on top.
  3. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up, and press gently with a spatula.
  4. Grill for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Carefully flip and grill the other side until crispy and the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from the pan, let cool briefly, cut diagonally, and serve hot.

Notes

Serve hot with tomato soup or a garden salad. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet for a couple of minutes to restore crunch.
