  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (fat-free)
  • 1/2 cup warm water Should be warm, not hot.
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar Use honey for a slight sweetness.
  • 1 tsp salt

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and honey. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt and the yeast mixture to the flour, and mix until a nice dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Let it rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow cooling before slicing.

Notes

Letting the dough rise properly will reward you with perfect bread. For best texture, knead until smooth. Customize by adding herbs or spices.
