Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 12 oz whipped cream cheese Make sure it is soft for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Add more if you like it sweeter.
  • 2 tsp lemon zest Freshly grated for maximum flavor.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract recommended.
For the strawberries
  • 12 medium to large strawberries Select plump and juicy ones for the best flavor.
For garnish
  • 1 tbsp graham cracker crumbs Can substitute with crushed nuts or cookie crumbs.
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles Use various colors to match the theme.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and dry the strawberries.
  2. Slice the strawberries in half, lengthwise (keeping the stems is optional).
  3. Score a triangle shape in the center of each strawberry half.
  4. Remove a bit of the flesh from the center using a small spoon or melon baller to create space for the filling.
  5. Drain the prepared strawberries cut side down on paper towels for a couple of minutes.
Filling
  1. In a large bowl, stir together the whipped cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla until very smooth.
  2. Transfer the cream cheese mixture into a piping bag or a Ziploc bag with a corner cut off.
  3. Pipe the filling into the center of each strawberry.
  4. Garnish with graham cracker crumbs and sprinkles.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately after garnishing.

Notes

These strawberries are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 days. For best flavor, fill them right before serving.
