  • 1 tablespoon steak seasoning For seasoning the beef
  • 1 large onion Thinly sliced for layering
  • 1/2 cup Arby’s sauce For flavoring the beef
  • 1/4-1/2 cup beef broth Use as needed for moisture
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor
  • 16 ounces cheddar cheese Shredded for mixing
  • 1 cup heavy cream To create a creamy sauce
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • 4 buns onion buns For serving the beef

Method

Preparation
  1. Generously coat the beef roast with steak seasoning, salt, and pepper, pressing the seasonings in.
  2. Thinly slice the onion and lay it at the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Place the seasoned beef roast on top of the onions and pour the Arby’s sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce over the meat.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours until the beef is fork-tender.
  2. Carefully remove the beef and shred using two forks, discarding any large bits of fat.
  3. Return the shredded beef to the crockpot with the juices and onions, reducing the heat to the warm setting.
  4. Gradually stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and heavy cream until a creamy sauce forms.
  5. Lightly toast the onion buns, then pile on the cheesy beef mixture and serve immediately.
