  • 4 slices sandwich bread or tortillas Choose whichever you have on hand.
  • 4 oz cheddar or mozzarella cheese Feel free to mix cheeses for extra flavor.
  • 2 Tbsp butter or cooking spray Used for frying to achieve crispiness.
  • 1 cup tomato soup or marinara sauce For dipping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Flatten each slice of sandwich bread with a rolling pin. If you’re using tortillas, skip this step.
  2. Place a slice of cheese on each slice of bread or tortilla.
  3. Roll up the bread or tortilla tightly around the cheese.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little butter or cooking spray.
  2. Place the roll-ups seam side down in the skillet. Cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  3. Serve warm with tomato soup or marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Don't skip frying them until crispy; it's where the magic happens. Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For long-term storage, freeze them well-wrapped.
