Cheese Mixture
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Drained for best texture
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Seasoning (optional)
  • to taste salt
  • pinch garlic powder optional
  • pinch Italian herbs optional
  • pinch paprika optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Drain the cottage cheese in a fine-mesh strainer for about 5 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  3. Combine the drained cottage cheese and shredded mozzarella in a mixing bowl, stirring until they’re thoroughly incorporated.
  4. Season the mixture with a pinch of salt and any optional add-ins like garlic powder, Italian herbs, or paprika if desired.
  5. Divide the cheese mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each into a stick about 4 inches long and 1 inch thick.
Baking
  1. Arrange the shaped sticks on your prepared baking sheet, leaving at least an inch between each for even browning.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the sticks turn golden brown on top with crispy edges.
Serving
  1. Allow the cheese sticks to cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with marinara sauce or fresh herbs. These sticks can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. For freezing, store in an airtight container for up to a month.
