Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Drain the cottage cheese in a fine-mesh strainer for about 5 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Combine the drained cottage cheese and shredded mozzarella in a mixing bowl, stirring until they’re thoroughly incorporated.
- Season the mixture with a pinch of salt and any optional add-ins like garlic powder, Italian herbs, or paprika if desired.
- Divide the cheese mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each into a stick about 4 inches long and 1 inch thick.
Baking
- Arrange the shaped sticks on your prepared baking sheet, leaving at least an inch between each for even browning.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the sticks turn golden brown on top with crispy edges.
Serving
- Allow the cheese sticks to cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with marinara sauce or fresh herbs. These sticks can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. For freezing, store in an airtight container for up to a month.
