  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten Replace with flaxseed meal for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Substitute with gluten-free blend if needed.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Regular, dark, or white chocolate can be used.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  5. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  6. Stir in the flour until just incorporated.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool before slicing and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, keep in the fridge for about a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the microwave for about 20 seconds before serving.
