Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, and salt.
- Add the cubed cold butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Gradually pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. (Don't overmix or you'll end up with dense biscuits!)
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, dried parsley, and garlic salt. Brush the mixture over the warm biscuits before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also prepare the dough a few hours in advance.
