Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients on low speed. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips with a spatula.
Baking
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature. For long-term storage, freeze for up to a month and microwave to revive fresh-baked warmth.
