  • 2 medium ripe bananas, mashed The riper, the better for flavor.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Plus 1 tablespoon cut into small pieces for topping.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk You can use almond or oat milk for a dairy-free option.
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Mix with cinnamon for topping.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional for extra richness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in the milk and chocolate chips if you're feeling extra decadent.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  8. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle it over the batter, and dot with the small pieces of butter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs.
  2. Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
  3. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Letting brownies cool fully means perfectly fudgy squares that won’t crumble when sliced. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
