Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 slices slices of bacon Use thick-cut bacon for better crisp.
  • 12 small mozzarella cheese balls Pat them dry before wrapping.
Maple Glaze
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup Drench generously for flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper Adjust to taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Optionally, place a wire rack on top.
  2. Pat the mozzarella balls completely dry with paper towels to prevent sogginess.
Wrapping and Baking
  1. Wrap each mozzarella ball with a slice of bacon, overlapping slightly to enclose the cheese completely. Secure with a toothpick.
  2. Place the bacon-wrapped cheese balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  3. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.
Making the Glaze
  1. While they bake, prepare the maple glaze by mixing the maple syrup, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Once the poppers are done, drizzle the maple glaze over each while they’re hot.
  3. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes before serving to prevent burns.

Notes

Serve on a colorful platter with fresh herbs and alongside spicy dipping sauce or crunchy veggies. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispness.
