Method
Preparation
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Core them using an apple corer or a small knife.
- Slice the apples as thinly and uniformly as possible (about 1/8 inch thick) using a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer.
Cooking
- Place the apple slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket, ensuring they don't overlap.
- Sprinkle the apple slices evenly with ground cinnamon.
- Set your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and cook for 8 minutes.
- Afterward, flip the slices and continue cooking for another 7-10 minutes, keeping an eye on them to prevent burning.
Cooling and Serving
- When the chips look dry and slightly browned at the edges, remove them.
- Transfer the apple chips to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy as a snack or pair with peanut butter or almond butter.
Notes
These apple chips stay fresh for about 1 week in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. Reheat briefly in the air fryer to revive their crunchiness.
